Dual Credit Information
Textbooks
When taking classes you will need to get materials for those courses. A great benefit to our dual credit and dual enrolled students is our zero pay book rental program. For many of your courses you may be able to borrow books at no charge. Be aware that not all courses use a book that can be loaned at no charge but for those that do we will provide a FREE RENTAL book for the semester.
If you are taking a class at your high school the books will be provided to you by the high school. You only need to get books for classes that are online, or if you are taking a seated class at one of our campus locations.
Book Return Information
Books must be returned to the Crowder bookstore by the Monday following finals (or by the date printed on the book) to avoid being charged full book price to your student account. Once charged, these fees are NON-REFUNDABLE, and the book is no longer able to be returned. This FREE option to borrow a book is a great opportunity if you follow the guidelines.
The Process for Books
- Books may be picked up in Neosho or ordered online on our website here.
- We can ship online orders directly to your home for a $12 shipping fee,
- Or we can ship your order to one of our campuses near you for pick up for a $3 delivery fee.
- When placing an order online it may look like you are being charged for the book. However, payment does not take place on the website as we have to process that order in store. Once we have your order and print your schedule identifying you as a dual credit student, all charges that should not be charged will be removed. See our blog on this website for details on how to order books.
- If you are picking up your books in-store, bring a photo ID and know your Crowder student ID number when you come to pick up a book. We must have both your ID and schedule to provide you with the correct book. We can print your schedule in-store with your photo ID.
- Each book will have a bright colored sticker on the front of the book with general rules including information about the return date PLUS there is a 2nd sticker on the front of the book with the EXACT DATE the book must be in our hands. If the book is not back by that date then the charges will be incurred.
- DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BOOK WITH YOUR HIGH SCHOOL. You must return the book back to the Crowder bookstore by the due date and the high school date for returning books may not meet this criteria. You can return your book(s) by bringing them back to the bookstore. If you are unable to make it to Neosho you can mail them back WITH a note that includes the following information:
- A written reason for why the books have been mailed back (in this case, for returns).
- Your first and last name.
- Your Crowder student ID number.
- If your book is damaged, we might not be able to take accept the return. Reasons for this might include water damage, spills that make the book pages unusable, an excessive amount of writing in the book, covers ripped etc.… Normal wear and tear is expected and accepted.
